What is Basotect?

All about the outstanding acoustic foam Basotect G+, with which we manufacture most of our elements.

We swear by the
Acoustic Foam Basotect G+

Basotect® is a flexible, open-cell acoustic foam made of melamine resin, a thermoset plastic. Its typical characteristic is the delicate spatial network structure, which is formed from slender and thus easily and therefore easily deformable webs.

Sound absorption

The open-cell surface of Basotect® ensures, that sound waves are not reflected as reverberation, but can penetrate the cell structure unhindered. In the cell structure, the sound energy is dissipated. Basotect® has excellent sound absorption capacity.

Good to know

Basotect has a flow resistance of 8-20 kPa s/m2 and is therefore optimally suited for broadband absorbers even with low thickness. Glass or rock wool often have a significantly lower flow resistance and are therefore suitable only in certain cases.

Environmental protection
& Health

Basotect® complies with the European RoHS Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances and is not subject to labeling German Ordinance on Hazardous Substances. In addition, Basotect® is certified according to the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification.

General
test certificate

Basotect G+ is flame resistant according to DIN 4102-Bi.
