Reflections
The reason why sound waves in the home spread rapidly to all areas and build up to a high noise level are reflections. Hard surfaces such as glass, concrete, parquet and tiles reflect almost 100 percent of the energy, which means that these reflections mix with the direct sound (for example, the voice). The addition of direct sound, reverberation and reflections results in a higher noise level in the living space.
- The ceiling is the perfect place to
install acoustical treatment as it is
commonly the largest available and
discreet space
